Tipping valves allow you to monitor product flow from outlets of dry bulk dust collectors, filter modules, and other discharge points. A tipping valve is a very effective and inexpensive type of airlock.
DCL’s tipping valves can be operated individually, or two valves can be mounted together – allowing more product flow and an even better airlock. Dual tipping valves have a tandem actuator configuration: only one actuator is needed to operate both valves.
Tipping valves can be actuated in many ways; pneumatically for fast action, electrically for precise positioning, and by gravity. The seals act as an airlock and are designed to eliminate product leakage when the blade is in the shutoff position. Blade seals are selected according to the material being handled and are available to suit any application.
Tipping valves can be suited to handle product up to 500 degrees Fahrenheit [260˚ C].
DCL offers a large selection of tipping valves from 6 inches [152 mm] square up to 18 inches [457 mm] square. Tipping valves are also available in sizes larger than 18 inches [457 mm] and in special configurations on a custom-built basis.
A choice of construction materials allows you to effectively handle all types of products – fine, granular, lumpy, abrasive, and corrosive – and difficult dusty or sanitary applications. You can also choose from the electrical options that are best suited for your environment: NEMA 4, NEMA 4X, NEMA 7, NEMA 9, 120V/220V control, 460V/415V power, etc.
