Aerated Reclaim System: Engineered for Efficient Bulk Material Loading
The DCL Aerated Reclaim System efficiently moves dry bulk materials such as cement and fly ash from storage structures like silos, bins, and domes. We call this the “reclaim” process. “Reclaiming” involves transferring materials from the bottom of these storage units for loading into trucks or train cars for delivery to their final destination. Up to 99% of the stored material is transferred to the loadout process!
We achieve this by directing pressurized air through the floor sections. We maximize efficiency in the material reclaiming process by carefully controlling the timing and location of the airflow and the volume of air required during different operational stages.
The DCL Aerated Reclaim System is safe and reliable. All maintenance occurs outside the material storage area. Additionally, all equipment inside the storage structure is completely pre-assembled – including the air distribution piping – eliminating the need for floor penetrations and welding during equipment installation.
The DCL Aerated Reclaim System enhances energy efficiency by using smaller blowers, which use less energy while allowing for efficient energy reclaim. The DCL Reclaim System features a versatile design and a range of fabric options, ensuring it can efficiently handle a diverse array of products.
With just a small product sample (about two ft³), DCL can perform a product compatibility test to determine your application’s optimum conveying angles and aeration volumes. We offer a range of aeration troughs from 6 inches [152 mm] wide to 24 inches [610 mm] wide.

THE DCL SMARTFLOOR CONTROL SYSTEM
The DCL SmartFloor Control System is a state-of-the-art upgrade designed to elevate the performance of the Aerated Reclaim System. While the Aerated Reclaim System delivers excellent results on its own, this optional control system offers enhanced feedback and efficiency for those looking to maximize their operational potential.
The DCL SmartFloor goes beyond simply starting and stopping equipment or monitoring operating status. It continuously gathers data from every part of the system throughout the entire reclaim process. By analyzing this data, we can fine-tune zone sequencing, adjust blower speeds (affecting volume and pressure), and optimize valve positions to maximize floor performance.
Why is this important?
Because the “set it and forget it” approach to material reclaim is both inefficient and risky. Conditions inside your dome constantly change, and you can’t see these shifts happening! Factors like material pile locations, sporadic avalanches, and discharge surges are unpredictable unless you actively monitor for patterns. Understanding when and why these conditions occur is crucial to reducing power consumption, maintaining consistent reclaim rates, and safeguarding your downstream equipment.
